Capricorn – it’s an energy alive in all of us. Some work with it easier than others.
It’s naturally restrictive, for good reason. It wants to create something, and is conscious of how we need to hold off on some things in order to get what we need.
It’s not much for flights of fancy – it wants us to be realistic in some area of our lives. And if we don’t behave in this manner, it can manifest in the psyche as a big bad wolf type. Even though I’ve known lovely dogs/wolves and they were loving and protective.
Which is what this energy wants to do – protect us & contain us, so we can withstand & live through the limitations of the world – the lack.
Capricorn knows what it is to lack and will work hard to keep the lack at bay.
Capricorn is purposeful. It’s focused on building something, for a reason.
You might think money is nonsense, fiat currency backed by nothing since it was taken off the gold standard in the 70’s. Or that its pursuit is the ruin of western civilization.
But Capricorn demands you get serious about the things you want to reject, because how you feel about it doesn’t change the fact that you need it in order to survive the human experience.
This energy is a container. It’s trying to stabilize something in our lives through the act of restriction.
If no one ever put your needs first, the restriction would demand that you learn how to put yourself first – how to schedule time for your needs. Not wait around for others to give you permission to honour yourself, or go to the bathroom – to provide something you need to develop within yourself.
Sometime we learn through painful experiences. Where Capricorn sits in your chart you’ve got lessons to learn that may be painful, and likely won’t be sorted out until later in life.
I mean, you will get messages and insights along the way, but a grounded awareness won’t come until later, after you’ve wrestled with something for a while.
This means you’ve got long term work to do which will pay off if you commit to doing it.
If you don’t, you’ll likely end up with some sort of intense repercussions – suffering.

There’s no need to fear this suffering – it’s part of the human experience.
We are here to have a full spectrum experience. Suffering is part of it.
Capricorn is about the human experience.
It’s an earth sign which means it’s interested in what is happening below our feet and arounds us, physically – what we can see and touch. It’s concerned with the physical world.
Good thing it is, because we have to figure out how to stabilize ourselves while we’re here.
Even if we think it’s all a stupid matrix indoctrination program and are more inclined to connect with the non-physical.
Career and work are important, whether we like it or not.
We need a purpose in life and we need to offer something to the physical world through that purpose.
Some area of life demands we become masters.
The path of a master entails realizing the work is never done – that you’ll likely never feel like a master.
But if you keep plugging away at something that feels valuable to you, long after most everyone else has given up, you’ll likely achieve some position of authority in your chosen field. And people will come to you, to access your expertise, which means you’re inadvertently offering something to the world and humanity – you’re helping.
Mixing the cardinality of this sign with earth means it is focused on creating something in the world within the container of societal rules & structures.
It has the potential to become rigid in its pursuit. This energy has ideas about how things are, which are informed by pre-existing structures. Unless these structures prove to be inadequate in supporting its ability to take care of its physical needs, there is a tendency to just keep on keepin’ on.
But if common sense is lacking, and the pre-existing narratives no longer make sense, ie rules of society no longer resonate, Capricorn can be a pioneer of a new way of living in the world, one that’s informed by the wisdom of nature, and creates a solid brick foundation – Ayurvedic stone – providing thousands of years of use.
If you want to honour this energy, honour the seeds you plant and water them regularly.
Realize the soil beneath the surface has to have integrity and purpose – it needs to be made of the right ingredients in order to support the longevity of the plant.
There’s a conservative element, simply because there are some things we must have in order to live a long life, and some things that aren’t just noise – practical – they only get in the way.
Remember that what we went without informs our ambitions.
This isn’t necessarily bad – everyone has a key motivator for why they do what they do. But if we’re not conscious of the underlying reason, unconsciously working on autopilot to fill the cupboards with whatever we want them full of, we could attain the home, career or bank statement balance we want and still feel the deep longing for something else – the melancholy of early life.
Capricorn energy has the capacity to self reflect – its negative polarity provides this. However these periods of retreat are often informed by a desire to create and refine structures out there. Not necessarily within themselves.
If there isn’t adequate movement in the pursuit to create something, ie if they aren’t seeing progress, this sign can become quite despondent, manifesting as negativity.
The struggle for Capricorn energy is realizing the foundation informs the outer structure.
If the thoughts they have about life are not in alignment with what they want to achieve, it’s less likely to happen. A rewriting of the script they are used to living by – tossing out any limited inner narratives is often part of the hard work that needs to be done.
Never forget that Capricorn is interested in what is happening in the known world, not the unknown elements of their inner life. It is focused on pre-existing structures, and adding onto them. So it can have a hard time seeing the value in the intangible.
It knows what it knows, finds comfort in that, and as long as the known supplies its physical needs, it tends to leave the investigating to other energies.
However, if things become impractical – if the structure of their lives becomes unstable, this energy will adjust its views and ways of living.
For Capricorn, the struggle often pertains to realizing their own inner life – the feeling nature – is feeding their capacity to create the outer life they want to experience.
The structures that live within – the ancestral, oligarch conditioning – can oftentimes inhibit success. So there is a practicality to feeling, the honouring of which is part of Capricorn’s journey.
