Like most things that are powerful and important to me do, astrology came into my life super randomly.
I was working with a writing consulting client. She was trying to figure out what day to launch her new business and mentioned she was going to consult her birth chart to figure it out.
I immediately got judgey. “Seriously? just pick a date girl! Gawd!”
See, up until a few months ago astrology was just woo-woo hippy shit to me. Save for reading the little write-ups about what to expect in the week ahead in the free papers while waiting for take out, I had zero interest in it.
I grew up in a household with super close-minded views about anything outside the so-called “norm.” It felt safer to reject anything outside of it than to embrace it, out of fear of ostracization and rejection.
Even though I myself was anything but normal. I didn’t fit in with the muggles (😂) but I felt compelled to at least try out of survival.
But not now. Now it’s the norm that scares me. Gimme ALL the woo-woo! I wanna know everything about all things!
Back to the story about my client. Heck yes, I got judgey about her consulting her birth chart. The good news?
I know judgement is a trigger, a catalyst for me to dig into whatever it is I’m feeling judgemental about.
So that’s what I did. Eventually. 😂 It took a few passes through my brain before I finally took action. IE it kept popping into my head, to ask my client for her astrologer’s email. But when I finally did it, whoosh! My life was altered in a beautiful and profound way.
Here’s the thing about astrology:
It’s a support system. An offering of wisdom and guidance from the stars to help you meander your life in a more impactful way.
It’s a powerful validation of who you are and how to best put your gifts to use. And if you don’t know what your gifts and talents are, astrology helps you figure that out.
Astrology is a tool given to humans to help them live their lives with greater purpose.
It’s a messaging system that says, No – don’t do that shit. Come over here and focus on this cool shit!
Astrology is an intimate insight into your psyche. It wakes you up to what you need to work on, and the areas or things you need to be mindful of.
Real-life examples of what I learned through a birth chart reading:
As much as I love writing consulting I wasn’t sure if I was on the right path. The question that kept coming up for me was should I keep consulting full-time or should I consider working for another company part-time too, to compensate for the freelancer willies, IE not being sure when my next client will come along.
The quick answer via astrology was, “girl, you know you need to never ever work for other people again, right?” 😂
Astrology validated what I had suspected, that I’m not suited to having a boss, cuz I AM a boss. Time to celebrate the power in that statement and focus my energy on owning and loving that about myself!
Astrology also affirmed my need to be mindful of escapism tendencies.
My birth chart acknowledged the existence of childhood trauma I tried to push down and away for years through learned coping mechanisms, AKA addictions. It also acknowledged my tendency to reject my feelings, something you learn to do when your parent is a narcissist.
The validation of my struggle was incredibly healing. It gave me permission to be kinder to myself and to realize my power.
I survived! I am a survivor! That’s some empowering shit!
My astrological reading gave me insights into my life path.
I am an actress in my personal life. I may have had some people rolling their eyes at me over the years for it, but I like to put on a comedy show. Humour naturally falls out of me, as does performing. I grew up dancing, singing (i still love both) and acting has always been something I’ve been fascinated by.
Through my astrological reading a vortex in my brain opened up that got me thinking maybe, just maybe, I could put the performer in me to use in my career. It gave me the go-ahead to consider sharing the parts of my personality I usually save for my hubby or super close friends.*
*WILD & CRAZY SHARE = 2 weeks after my astrology reading I was signed to a talent agency; 1 day after being signed I was on a paid photoshoot; 1 week after that I was working on a movie set, and I am currently working on a video audition for my first speaking role (PS I GOT THE PART😳)
None of this is a coincidence because there are no coincidences in life, only synchronicities.
There are a ton of other amazing things I’ve learned through astrology which fuel my obsession with it. I will share more at a later date but for now, I want to put this out into the world as is because it could help someone who needs guidance or validation.
Through astrology, you can find the acknowledgment and guidance you’ve been seeking. 🌙🌌✨🌗
Even though I know timing is everything in life, it would have been nice to know all that I now know from an astrological standpoint at an earlier age. Lot’s of suffering would have been alleviated – Just sayin’. 😉
If the inkling to investigate is more like a judgment, alas WTF is Andrea talking about? Astrology? Really?? dare to dig into that judgment.
Judgment holds us back from SO many opportunities to heal ourselves. It feels uncomfortable, and we associate the “bad” feelings with whatever it is that has stimulated said judgement, and avoid it like the plague.
Cool stuff happens when you see judgement for what it is: an opportunity to learn more about whatever you feel inclined to immediately reject.
Consider getting a birth chart reading. Do some research and use your instincts to decide which astrologer is best for you. Keep in mind that you need to be discerning. The cheapest is not the best. Look for reviews. You know, like you do when you’re online shopping.
You can also do it yourself if you feel inclined. Check out sites like astro.com or astro codex to get your birth chart info and then google all the placements. Youtube is amazing. Some really amazing astrologers on there.
WARNING: don’t integrate other people’s limiting beliefs about your placements into your psyche.
I am currently recovering from this situation and it’s been super challenging. There is a big difference between realizing some areas might be a challenge for you, and feeling like you have no power, and that things are destined to suck, no matter what you do.
FUCK THAT. That’s another person connecting to their own fear-based paradigms, and (usually) unknowingly trying to keep the fear alive by transferring it on and into you. Don’t play along.
There are some really cool astrology apps out there, too. I’d say it’s the quickest way to witness and integrate the power of knowing your chart. My favourite right now is The Pattern and Co-star. Both free. Will probably blow your mind, but whatever right? lol!
Unveil the wisdom within you through astrology. 🌀🌀🌀
