A new moon is a two-fold opportunity.
For one, the events leading up to it are harbingers of something you’re being called to make a pact with yourself about.
There’s a gift of awareness, which doesn’t always feel great. But there’s no growth in comfort, so we thank it for how it expands our horizons & continue forward (oh, what a humble thank you can do, to enhance the quality of one’s existence).
Secondly, a new moon is a powerful opportunity to make a commitment to something that is important to you. You can ride the celestial energies and help whatever you want to help along, along.
When I look at the set up for this new moon, the fact that Aquarius is a fixed sign screams a little in my inner ear. If you want to make something happen in the world, you need fixed energy. Because you have to stay with something – there must be a quality of endurance imbued in it, for it to become some-thing.
And you might really, really need to stay with whatever is wanting to be hatched in your life, because it might veer far from what your aunties and uncles think is appropriate or normal. IE you might not be understood – and if you aren’t, that’s when you’ll know you’re onto something. 😉
I have mad respect for the Aquarius archetype. It is so misunderstood by the mainstream, but it also refuses to quit even when it meets resistance.
The ball could go either side of the court with that one. But if there were a warning for this new moon, it would be to make sure spirit is your side kick in whatever idea you are wanting to commit to, and grow.
You’re using your connection with spirit to bring something from the aether down into form on earth. This is what Aquarius is all about! So you have to maintain that connection – develop it, commit to it.
It’s easier to not fit in when you’ve got a connection to something vaster than the memory of the moments when someone rejected you for breathing air in close proximity to them.
IE you’ll need to develop an enduring connection with your spiritual body if you want to maintain the endurance to keep on keepin’ on with that idea you’re feeling more courageous about building into the structure of your life as each day passes (just dooooo it – we all need you to!)
Also – we are heading into years of unpredictability. More of that? Yep. So whatever you are venturing into, be there for yourself. Make sure there is love in whatever you want to pour forth onto the world – your ideas, your work, your visions.
Tethering ones well-being to the fragile desire for the world to be a certain way; to being seen and adored by others; to someone else being a certain way – well, I think we’re understanding how dangerous that can be to our health.
Aquarius is the celestial nervous system. It’s touching, connecting and sensing the chaos of creation. It knows that destruction can create, what we must create in destructions wake.
But then it’s also here on earth, meant to take something about what it’s connecting with that is so misunderstood by most earthlings, and turn it into something that is of service, to the whole.
It’s also entirely unpredictable, for better or worse. But what I know for sure about life is that what feels worse is often the activating force of something you truly needed, to not just feel stable, but create stability in unstable times.
If it’s not working, let it go and make room for the right fit – for you; if it’s not practical and makes things worse, clear it out before the 9th of February, @ 2:58 pm pst.
Don’t forget to run the vacuum through the house & clean up the clutter, too. Universe likes clean carpets. So do our minds.
And here’s some info about a new moon meditation group you might like to join me on, by astrologer William Stickevers (by donation – link below description):
“We started this monthly abundance practice on August 20th, 2020 during the pand*mic, to help you focus on, cultivate, and increase abundance, since it can be challenging to feel abundant during a crisis.
Thank you for your participation in this monthly abundance practice. Your donations have provided 70,340 meals to families in need and critical medical care for 88 injured or abused rescued rabbits. This new moon meditation is a fundraiser because while we increase the energy of abundance during our group meditation and ritual, we also practice allowing abundance to flow through each of us. All registration fees support these nonprofit organizations: Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization, and SaveABunny, an award-winning rabbit rescue organization in Mill Valley, CA.”
