There is time for seeing what needs to be witnessed, and therefore, transformed. Always.
There are moments when you may feel that you need to examine something later – perhaps not while you’re at work, during a family dinner or while tending to children.
But there is never space within to pretend that what came up doesn’t live within you. Particularly if whatever came up inspired powerful feelings.
Strong feelings will seek to take up more space within you if denial is the chosen route.
But there is no more space within you to be taken up! Therefore, it must be a priority to witness what arises. To say, “Yes, I see you, I know you are there”
We can learn how to tend to these vulnerable moments of feeling. How to feel them, thoroughly, in order to transform them.
We can work towards being able to do this on demand, too.
It takes a commitment to learning and practice for this to occur. A foundation of heart and mind connection – of mindfulness.
A commitment to this practice which will teach you inner trust – that you contain the ability to survive and transmute whatever arises within you – inherently. You just need to be reminded of this power.
The route must be to witness what exists when it arises. And if the current setting doesn’t allow for feelings to be fully examined, setting the courageous intention to visit these feelings at a later date is the next best step.
The sooner the better.
There’s never a time for denial about what lives within you. Pause, yes. But not denial.
